I never would have thought to paint a mantle purple. This can lead to all sorts of fun things do to around the house. Yellow doors and door frames, blue book cases, orange kitchen cabinets. Adding a solid firm and strong color to an item that is fixed in the room could be the perfect fix when needing instant color.
